Hello There !

Picture
Welcome and thank you for visiting!
I am Lucy Arends Wagner,  devoted cat slave!
Taigha is pronounced 'tiger' and we are situated in Edenvale,Gauteng,South Africa. We are not far from Johannesburg and conveniently  a stone's throw from the O.R. Tambo International Airport!
Siamese have always been a huge passion in my life. I got my first Siamese, Ming, in 1968... that's a while ago! However, our very first litter of Siamese  was not born until 1973. The only Blue Point in a  litter of Seal Points was  a bouncing baby boy called Taigha for whom our cattery is named.

It was not until 1987 however, that I decided to breed Siamese seriously and get more involved in the cat fancy.  This has become delightful and absorbing hobby and I am very fortunate and blessed  to have moral support from my tolerant and very patient husband!

Breeding

Picture
We breed most colours of Siamese... Self, Tabby and Tortie Points.
Our Orientals come in a wide range of colours from black to cream and in-between. Presently, however, we  specialise in the Bi-colour and Pointed Bi-colours, also known as the Seychellois.
These lovely cats with their colours and random patterns ..... their  'Amazing Technicolour Dream Coats'....  can only be accredited to their Creator's wonderful sense of humour and  work of art!
Since we  started breeding, we  have successfully continued to produce  quality and healthy kittens with well adjusted temperaments. Our kittens are raised in our home in a happy and healthy environment.

Adopting a Kitten

Babies are placed in approved homes between 12 and 16 weeks of age. Our kittens are rarely sold for breeding purposes.  If our  babies are shown, that's a bonus, but the  number one criteria is a happy 'forever' home.
We therefore usually practice early neutering and spaying which prevents the unpleasant repercussions of crackling hormones as well as ensuring that there will be no unwanted additions to the feral cat population of South Africa.
Kittens that are de-sexed young, recuperate from the procedure very quickly and have no long term after effects at all.  Visit  The Winn Foundation website
......http://www.winnfelinehealth.org/Health/spay-neuter.html ..... for more information about this controversial subject.
  • All our  kittens are sold  registered, inoculated and de-wormed.
  • All our  kittens have an adoption contract.
Our Cattery is registered with The Southern Africa Cat Council (SACC) as well as the Cat Federation of Southern Africa (CFSA)

Shows

Picture
Showing our cats at Cat Shows became a big part of our lives. We progressed from exhibiting to stewarding and then eventually to judging.

I am presently an accredited All Breeds International Cat Judge proudly affiliated to The Southern African Cat Council (SACC)

We have been extremely blessed by breeding many show winners. Also Cat of the Year winners and finalists over the years.

We have won the CFSA Cat of the Year twice,  Kitten of the year four times,  Neuter of the year , Stud of the Year and Cattery of the Year amongst others, on a number of  occasions.  For this we thank God and the people whose lovely cats started us off with our breeding programs..... and of course the co-operation of our beloved  cats themselves!
